“Nothing is worth more than laughter”

Feminist Flame – Enjoy your candle. Be inspired!

Frida Kahlo was born in Mexico in 1907. Despite contracting polio at the age of six and suffering life changing injuries sustained in an accident, she went on to become a prolific artist and fervent political activist.

She was a portrait artist who incorporated graphic and surrealist images in her paintings.

Frida’s unapologetic and unconventional lifestyle was both controversial and inspirational. Her popularity since her death in 1954 has only grown.

Frida Kahlo is regarded by many as an icon of female creativity and political activism.
